Trump did make a statement in an interview (not a tweet) where he discussed calls to abolish ICE in the wake of the family separation issue. There have been some calls to abolish ICE and start over with some new agency, although the open borders supporters wouldn't want to re-form the organization at all. With that said, some democrats have made that sort of declaration as well, and Trump said that he hopes they embrace the idea, because he believes it would be a position that would cause them to lose at the ballot box.
